A bumper year for Business Training Solutions
A number of successful NVQ candidates were presented with their Certificates by Newbury Mayor, Phil Barnett, at an Award Ceremony held at the Town Hall on Tuesday, 23 September 2008.
Certificates for Business Administration, Teaching Assistants and Assessor and Verifier Awards were presented to candidates from local companies, including many of West Berkshire primary and secondary schools.
Alison Webster, Head Teacher at St Joseph’s Primary School in Newbury said:
Working with BTS has been like a breath of fresh air. It all began with our office staff and then we explored gaining accredited recognition for the valuable work that our teaching assistants undertake in supporting teaching and learning across the school. The interest has snowballed with many achieving NVQ Level 2 and some eager to pursue Level 3. This has not only supported an aspect of our whole school development, but raised self esteem, strengthened a sense of teamwork, ensured that all adults have a positive impact on the children's learning and a renewed focus and energy on providing the best for the children in our care.
Margaret Young, BTS director said:
Candidates have worked very hard to achieve these certificates and we take great pleasure in presenting them. In fact all candidates who started their NVQ, completed successfully and on time, ie 100% retention, completion and achievement.
As well as receiving ‘A’ grade inspection from OCR for Business Administration, Teaching Assistants and Assessor Awards, BTS also achieved Matrix Accreditation which is a quality standard for giving impartial advice and guidance. Margo McIver commented:
We have a number of new candidates already started this academic year and we look forward to the challenges ahead.
BTS have been in operation now since 2003 and year on year has gone from strength to strength increasing turnover annually. This is something that BTS directors are very proud of, particularly in the current climate.
Business Training Solutions has secured funding under the Government’s initiative Train to Gain which means some NVQs – Levels 2, 3 and 4 can be delivered completely free of charge or part funded. If this is something your are interested in please contact either Margaret Young or Margo McIver to discuss further.
