Business Training Solutions named as one of the top training providers
Newbury based Business Training Solutions was recently named as one of the top training providers in the country by the Adult Learning Inspectorate, the government body responsible for the quality of education and training for adults and young people. At the launch of the annual report for 2005-06 Chief Inspector, David Sherlock, named Business Training Solutions as being one of only 151 organisations to receive “good” or “outstanding” inspection grades for every aspect of its training.
David Sherlock said:
I am delighted to be able to name Business Training Solutions as one of this year’s outstanding providers. They have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to achieving the very highest standards in the quality of training they offer. Learners can be confident that they will receive first-class support to reach their full potential. To be one of the top providers in the country is a tremendous achievement and a great credit to the team at Business Training Solutions.
Established in November 2003, Business Training Solutions has gone from strength to strength. Based in Newbury, it was set up by two local women, Margaret Young and Margo McIver, both of whom have been involved in training for over 25 years. Margaret Young said:
the secret of our success is to deliver a quality service which is totally customer led, ie a service which fits in with the clients’ working day at a time suitable to them. All training is tailored to the needs of both the learner and the organisation and takes place at the clients’ premises so as to cause as little disruption as possible whilst at the same time achieving maximum benefit
Business Training Solutions deliver and assess NVQs in Business and Administration, Customer Service, Teaching Assistants and A1/A2 (Assessor) and V1 (Verifier) Awards predominantly within the Berkshire area. Margo McIver said:
Awarding Body External Verifiers have consistently awarded Business Training Solutions A Grades for our systems, procedures and service given to candidates. We know we offer service which is second to none, and it is magnificent to have this recognised by the quality assurance experts”.
Business Training Solutions, who were awarded an Inspection Grade 2 earlier this year, have acted as consultants to other centres wishing to go through the process of setting up and running a NVQ centre and have even been asked to sell their well tried, tested and highly successful systems and procedures.
Louise Mills of Francis Baily Primary School, Thatcham, was successful in achieving the NVQ level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification and said “I could not have asked for more patient and supportive assessors and genuinely believe that their constant reassurance made me believe in my abilities and complete this course successfully
Business Training Solutions currently have around 50 work-based candidates serviced by a very small dedicated and professional team. Individual candidates are allocated an assessor who will work with them on a one-to-one basis for the duration of their programme. David Sherlock said:
The ultimate aim of inspection is to improve quality standards and ensure young people and adults are getting the best possible education and training. This year we can celebrate a phenomenal improvement in the performance of the learning and skills sector. Learning provision for adults is better, more varied, more closely linked to achieving fulfilment in life and work and more inclusive of our people than every before. That is the stuff of delight. It should give intense satisfaction to all who have contributed to its realisation, but most of all to the providers themselves.
Business Training Solutions has been successful in gaining funding to deliver Business and Administration and Teaching Assistant NVQ level 2 qualifications free of charge under the Government initiative Train to Gain.
